Verra ("we," "us," or "our") is a background verification platform operated at verratrust.com. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal data.
For men seeking verification: Full legal name, date of birth, current and previous residential addresses, a government-ID-matching photo, and optional social media profile links (LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, X/Twitter). We also assign you a unique public handle (^handle).
For women members: Email address and payment confirmation. We do not collect additional personal information beyond what is necessary to maintain your account.
Payment data: Payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your card number, CVV, or full payment details. We retain only a payment confirmation record.
Usage data: Standard server logs, browser type, and IP address may be collected for security and debugging purposes.
We use the information you provide solely for the following purposes:
We do not sell, rent, or use your personal data for advertising, marketing, or any purpose unrelated to the verification service.
Checkr Trust — We share your name, date of birth, and address with Checkr Trust to conduct the background check. Checkr Trust is bound by its own privacy policy and applicable consumer reporting laws.
Stripe — Payment information is handled entirely by Stripe, Inc. Verra receives only a payment confirmation. Stripe's use of your data is governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy.
We do not share your data with any other third parties except as required by law (e.g., valid court orders or legal process).
When a woman member views a verified man's profile, she sees: his first name, last name, ^handle, profile photo, social media links (if provided), verification status, and the date verified/expires. She does not see his date of birth, address, or any raw background check data beyond the pass/flag result.
We retain your profile data for as long as your account is active. If your subscription expires and is not renewed, your public profile will be deactivated within 30 days. You may request full deletion of your data at any time (see "Your Rights" below). Background check records may be retained by Checkr Trust in accordance with their own retention policies and applicable law.

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS/HTTPS), secure data storage, and access controls to protect your information. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data from unauthorized access.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the platform. Continued use of Verra after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
