By creating an account or using Verra ("the Service," "we," "us"), you agree to these Terms & Conditions in full. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms constitute a binding legal agreement between you and Verra (verratrust.com).
To use Verra, you must:

By signing up for verification as a man on Verra, you expressly consent to having a consumer background check conducted on your behalf. This check is performed by Checkr Trust and may include a search of criminal records, sex offender registries, international watchlists, and identity verification databases. You understand that this check is used solely to determine your eligibility for a Verra Verified badge, and that results may affect whether your public profile is activated.
Price: The current membership fee is $15 USD per year for both men seeking verification and women seeking access to the platform.
Renewal: Subscriptions renew annually. You will be notified before your renewal date. You may cancel at any time before renewal to avoid being charged for the next year.
Refunds: Payments are generally non-refundable once a background check has been initiated or access has been granted. If you have not yet begun your verification, contact us within 24 hours of payment for a refund consideration. Email hello@verratrust.com.
Payment Processing: All payments are processed securely by Stripe. Verra does not store your card information.
You agree to use Verra only for its intended purpose: verifying identity for personal dating safety. You may not:
Verra is not a consumer reporting agency and the background check results provided through Verra are NOT intended to be used as "consumer reports" as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
You expressly agree that you will NOT use Verra or any information obtained through Verra for:
Verra is designed exclusively for personal dating safety. Any other use is a material breach of these terms.
Verra's verification results are based on records available through Checkr Trust at the time of the check. A "Verra Verified" badge indicates that no disqualifying records were found in the databases searched — it does not guarantee the absence of a criminal history, nor does it constitute a character endorsement or personal guarantee of any kind. Verra is a tool to help you make more informed decisions, not a guarantee of safety. Always use your own judgment when meeting someone new.
Verra operates as a peer-to-peer Trust Infrastructure Utility. Background verification services provided through Verra are for personal safety and P2P trust purposes only. Results may not be used for employment screening, tenant screening, credit decisions, insurance underwriting, or any other purpose regulated under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). This service is not a consumer reporting agency as defined by FCRA.
In the event that verification cannot be completed, Verra will provide users with appropriate notices and direct them to Checkr's consumer support and dispute resolution resources. Verra does not make eligibility decisions. All verification determinations are made by our third-party partner, Checkr. Users have the right to request a copy of their background report and dispute any inaccurate information directly with Checkr at checkr.com/consumer-support.
Verra retains only verification status, dates, and reference identifiers (such as Checkr profile IDs). Verra does not retain copies of background report data, criminal records, sex offender registry information, or any detailed results from background checks. All background data is held by Checkr in accordance with their data retention policies. Users may contact Checkr directly to request deletion of report data they hold.
If your background check cannot be completed, your profile will not be activated. Verra does not make eligibility decisions — this is handled by Checkr. You will receive guidance to contact Checkr Consumer Support to request your report and dispute any inaccuracies. Verra reserves the right to deny verification to any user.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Verra, its operators, employees, and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service or reliance on verification results. Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to Verra in the 12 months preceding the claim.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these terms, fraudulent activity, or at our sole discretion. You may close your account at any time by contacting hello@verratrust.com.
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Verra is incorporated, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the applicable courts of that jurisdiction.
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or platform notice. Your continued use of Verra after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
